The short version

KeepKase is a small Alpha — 100 people, no more. We collect only what we need to ship your case, keep you posted, and run our Discord. We don't sell your data. Your card details never touch our servers. You can ask to see or delete your data anytime.

What we collect

  • Order information. When you buy through our Shopify store, we receive your name, shipping address, email, and order details so we can fulfill and support your order.
  • Email address. If you join the waitlist or sign up for updates, we keep your email to send you news about the build. If you leave the optional $10 refundable deposit to hold a front-of-line spot, the payment itself runs through Shopify (see Payments below).
  • Discord handle. If you join our Discord, we'll see your handle and what you post there. Discord is the home of the Alpha — feedback, build updates, votes — so taking part is up to you.
  • Basic analytics. We collect standard, mostly aggregate data about how people use the site (pages viewed, device type, rough location) to understand what's working.

We don't ask for more than this, and we don't go looking for data you haven't handed us.

How we use it

  • Process, ship, and support your order.
  • Send updates you asked for about the Alpha and the Kickstarter launch.
  • Run and moderate the Discord community.
  • Understand site traffic so we can improve the store.
  • Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Payments

Payments — the $50 Alpha unit (sold at cost) and the optional $10 refundable deposit — are processed by Shopify and its payment providers. We don't see or store your full card number. Card data is handled directly by the payment processor under their own security standards. For details on how Shopify handles payment data, see Shopify's privacy practices.

Email and marketing

If you opted in, we'll email you about the build, the Alpha, and the Kickstarter launch. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link — one click, no questions asked. You can also email [SUPPORT_EMAIL] to be removed. We may still send essential transactional emails, like an order or shipping confirmation, even after you've opted out of marketing.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar tools to keep the store working (like remembering your cart) and to gather basic analytics. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. Where required, we'll ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

Data retention

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above:

  • Order records are kept as long as required for support, warranty, tax, and accounting purposes.
  • Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Discord data stays as long as you're a member; what you post there follows Discord's own retention.

When we no longer need your data, we delete it or anonymize it.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that's wrong.
  • Delete your data (where we're not required to keep it).
  • Opt out of marketing at any time.

Children

KeepKase is made for an audience of roughly 14 to 28. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us their information, email [SUPPORT_EMAIL] and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. For meaningful changes, we'll give you a heads-up.
